This month, the reality hits that my sister Berni has turned 60, while my Mother Phyllis would have celebrated her 87th birthday on February 26th. Additionally, Craig and Paul from our early morning walking group “ Last of the HandPumped Tetley’s crew” have also turned 62 and 65 this week.
Recently, we have grieved the loss of both Rick Buckler, the celebrated drummer from the The Jam, and the extraordinary vocalist Roberta Flack.
Although it remains unclear if Rick ever drummed on one of her songs, I can’t help but think abut the possibility of “Killing Me Softly down in the Tube Station at midnight.”
As many have observed, time certainly has a way of flying by.
During our morning walks, it’s heartening to see the dawn arriving earlier each day, revealing a transforming landscape. More people are venturing outside by 6 a.m. as spring approaches—an ideal moment to revisit our personal health aspirations and take that initial leap. The most important thing is simply to start.
Let’s encourage each other by reaching out to our friends and family. A simple call can create a significant difference in someone’s life. When is the right time to connect and make that call ? I propose today, tomorrow, or anytime thereafter, as needed.
