As men, we all recognise that when Man Flu strikes, it significantly hampers our ability to function.
Recently, it kept me home for nearly a week, keeping me from my morning walking group. While I wallowed in self-pity, I found myself reflecting on how beneficial those walks are for my physical and, ironically, mental well-being.
One notable downside was that I couldn’t take my wife, Svetlana, out to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8th. Growing up in Yorkshire during the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s, I never thought of this as particularly significant. However, as a husband in today’s world, I’ve come to understand its importance. To make up for it, I’ll be treating her this weekend to an afternoon at the Westgate Common Club WMC for half a lager and lime 🍋🟩. I know she’s looking forward to it! 😂😂
This past week also marked three years since we lost Inna, my mother-in-law. We miss her dearly every day, and I have no doubt she would still be commanding attention with her unforgettable presence. She left behind a wonderful legacy as an exceptional person.🧍♀️
Not only on International Women’s Day—but every day—we should take the time to remember all the remarkable women in our lives.
Pick up the phone and call your mother, sister, old school friends, or colleagues. Trust me, your call will undoubtedly brighten their day.

My good friend Gillian Ashcroft and 50 other women recently participated in a fantastic event. If you’re able to support her fundraising efforts, that would be brilliant 🤩
Wishing everyone a peaceful weekend ahead! I’m pleased to share that we have enjoyed full attendance all week with the “Hand Pumped Tetley Crew.” We’re now benefiting from our strolls in the warmth of early morning sunshine and beautiful daylight. 🌅☀️
