While out walking last week, Craig reminded me of a memorable time we shared a walk and conversation.
It was 1980, and as the clock struck 2 AM on a Sunday morning, we exited Mecca in Wakefield. We met up with Craig, who was only 16 at the time. He walked home with me and Pecker, who were 20 and 21, respectively. Although it may have appeared that we were simply looking out for him, the truth was that we were eager to get to know his gorgeous older sister, Vicky, who was in her early 20s—a definite crush for us back then! 😂😂😂 But as they say, perseverance pays off!
Fast forward over forty years, and Craig finally introduced me to Vicky over coffee. She remains as stunning as ever—a truly wonderful person. 🧍♀️
It’s also been five years since the lockdown due to Covid in the UK, a time when many individuals needed support for various reasons. Today, there are still countless people facing daily challenges on their own, and a simple phone call can significantly change lives. Just this weekend, I received a call from a close friend who is feeling unwell. Fortunately, he has a good support network, but not everyone is so lucky.
So once again, let’s make an effort to reach out—call someone to check if they’re okay, need to chat, or require assistance. It only takes 10 minutes.
During lockdown, I retrained as a hairdresser, and I’ve attached a photo of my work on Joseph’s haircut. Clearly, I’m not on track to become the next big name in the industry!
